STAMMER AND NEURO-SYLLABLE

Stammer is a very common disorder in childhood and various factors may play a role in its aetiology. The authors emphasise the role of incomplete cerebral dominance as an important pathogenetic factor of stammer, as well as of other learning disabilities. On this basis, they propose a “central” rehabilitation through matrix-based training aimed at neuro-syllable development and establishment of hemispheric dominance. This non invasive holistic approach can be used also in other language disorders. The results obtained so far are promising.
