Key words: Fluoridation, Intraoral fluoride release
Various methods for fluoride administration are currently used: water fluoridation, oral tablets, fluoridated tooth paste. A new method is now suggested: intraoral fluoride realising device. The method is rapidly effective, comfortable and is specifically indicated in disabled patients where adequate oral hygiene is difficult. The low concentration of fluoride released by the device (0.04 mg/day) is sufficient to prevent caries without any risk of fluorosis.
