An Arthralgia Masking a Case of Scurvy

The paper describes the case of a 4-year-old girl with Jacobsen syndrome and a history of highly selective eating, who presented with anaemia, arthralgia and a sudden refusal to bear weight following a minor knee injury. The condition, which proved to be a case of scurvy, highlights the clinical significance of severe nutritional deficiencies in paediatric patients with selective diets or developmental disorders.

Tic Cough: a Case Report

The paper describes the case of a 6-year-old girl with diurnal, drug-resistant tic (psychogenic) cough triggered by a traumatic hospitalisation. Once organic causes were ruled out, the issue was permanently resolved through psychotherapy combined with EMDR.

Chest Pain and Pericarditis

Key words: Positional chest pain, ECG changes, Pericarditis

The paper describes the case of a 14-year-old boy who presented to the Emergency Room with positional chest pain and ECG changes. Based on his symptoms and rising CRP levels, he was discharged with a diagnosis of acute pericarditis and prescribed ibuprofen, colchicina and rest. At the follow-up visit two days later, the pain had reduced, but typical pericardial friction rubs were detected.
