Dizziness is a recurrent symptom in children that is often underestimated and incorrectly evaluated. The inability of affected children to explain the characteristics of the experienced symptoms may preclude the diagnosis making, especially in very young children. The etiopathology of vertigo in children differs from the one in adults. The improvement of knowledge about the causes of vertigo in childhood and the introduction of new vestibular tests allow the diagnosis to be made and neuroimaging that are often unnecessary to be reduced. This article describes the main causes of dizziness in children and indicates clinical signs, diagnosis and treatment.
