Lymphadenitis is a common finding in Paediatrics. However, it could be a sign of many different diseases, varying from banal viral infections to severe neoplastic disease or immunodeficiency. Some clinical aspects can be useful to differentiate the benign forms of lymphadenitis from the ones that need a prompt diagnostic in-deep analysis and treatment. In suspicious cases blood tests and ultrasound may be useful. The paper discusses different causes of lymphadenopathies, their diagnosis and treatment through various case reports. Finally, it presents a diagnostic guideline for cervical lymphadenopathies in children.
