Key words: Kawasaki disease, Juvenile idiopathic arthritis, Dermatomyositis
The paper presents some practical messages for paediatricians that may be taken from the five rheumatological cases herein. Kawasaki disease may recur in the same patient, so in this case re-treatment with intravenous gammaglobulin is mandatory. Different aetiology other than juvenile idiopathic arthritis should be suspected in recurrent not-persistent knee swelling in children. Severe, difficult-to-treat juvenile dermatomyositis with muscular necrosis may present without the classic dermatological signs of the disease.
