The treatment of paediatric obesity is one of the main objectives of the Public Health System in the industrialized world. Prevention and treatment of not complicated obesity are common tasks for primary care practitioners. Therapeutic Patient Education is an effective approach for this disease. The present study shows how this treatment is effective if it is employed by Primary Care Paediatricians. In addition, it shows the results of the approach on weight decrease at a 3-year follow up compared to a traditional dietetic therapy.
