The Authors reviewed the literature on the effects of heated humidified high flow nasal cannula (HHHFNC) treatment in preterm infants. The HHHFNC delivers a continuous distending pressure (CDP) in smaller infants proportional to the flow that is extremely variable and unpredictable. For this motive, the application of high flow therapy should be limited to the oxygen-therapy and should not be used as device for producing continuous distending pressure. The aim of this article is to disclose the procedure among paediatricians of the territory.
