The need to rapidly attribute a correct code to urgencies and emergencies in the paediatric Emergency Unit has induced the Authors to realize a pocket guide where the normal values of vital parameters divided into age brackets, the useful alarm signs for immediately recognising a highly critical situation and the synoptic tables of vital functions are presented.
