The storage of expressed human milk has been encouraged in situations when breast feeding is not possible. A major practical problem is the choice of the correct duration of storage according to different temperatures provided by fridges and/or freezers. A scarce body of research and literature on this topic makes the decision quite arbitrary and prone to the principle of prudence.
