An audit of paediatric telephone advice practice was organized as part of a CME programme. Four cases were discussed as emblematic of common conditions for which paediatric telephone advice is frequently seeked: fever, cough, vomiting and feeding problems. For each case, four possible options for telephone advice were offered for discussion to the paediatric practitioners who took part in the CME meeting. An expert matters participated in the meeting to clarify the many legal implications of telephone advice.
